Sensitive Drill

Although 1/16in. diameter drills and less can of course be used in a mill/drill or pillar drill, there is always a strong possibility of breaking them due to the lack of 'feel'. With a sensitive drill not only is the 'feel' improved, but the high speed necessary for small drills is obtained. The drill has been designed for drills up to 5/32in.

A boss is cast into the underside of the base so that constructors so wishing can make a hub that is screwed the same as their lathe. Chucks can then be brought from the lathe without disturbing the job and a ring of holes drilled on a pitch circle, and if needs be put back in the lathe for further work. Provision has been made for locking the hub. The drill is shown fitted with a 1/6h.p. 2,800 Parvalux motor giving speeds of 2,100 & 3,730 r.p.m. The drill is not suitable for a standard 1/4h.p. motor.

If the drill takes up too much bench space, it is light and compact enough to be lifted under the bench when not in use.

               Base 7in. wide x 8in. Throat 4in. Table to chuck 8 l/2in.
